Synopsis
In Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, much-loved characters from the worldwide blockbusters Ice Age and Ice Age: The Meltdown are back, on an incredible adventure... for the ages. Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while, maybe, finding true love); Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) await the birth of their mini-mammoth, Sid (John Leguizamo) the sloth gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs; and Diego (Denis Leary) the saber-toothed tiger wonders if he's growing too "soft" hanging with his pals. On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna run amuck - and meet a relentless, one-eyed, dino-hunting weasel named Buck.

After a whirlwind summer, Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs makes its way onto the home theater market on DVD and Blu-ray.
Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while possibly finding true love); Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth; Diego, the saber-toothed tiger, wonders if he is growing too "soft" due to hanging with his pals; and Sid, the sloth, gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs.
On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna, run amuck, and meet a relentless, one-eyed dino-hunting weasel, named Buck.
Normally I am not one to enjoy sequels, but I quite enjoyed seeing Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in the movie theater this summer, and the home entertainment release is not disappointing.
The introduction of the character, Buck, is a warm welcome to the Ice Age story. I dare say that this film is probably my favorite out of all of them because of the wild antics of the characters, the smart dialog, and the great action piece. This movie has it all.
Blue Sky has gone all out with this DVD release. It provides amazing digital-to- digital transfer, resulting in the best quality picture a DVD can obtain. Same can be said for the sound, with its Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack...not since Jurassic Park has the prehistoric age sounded this good.
Aside from a full-length-feature length film, Blue Sky and Twentieth Century Fox also released a secondary disc with this release that continues the adventures of the lovable prehistoric squirrel, Scrat. The short will have you belly laughing and falling on the floor -- especially the short entitled, "No time for Nuts". They really out did themselves with this one.
If you have been a fan of Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs since the beginning, you will not be disappointed. If you are a new fan, this is defiantly the film to get you hooked! Open the door, get on the floor, and walk the dinosaur!--Nathan M Rose
