Lindsey Lohan To Appear In Robert Rodriguez Machete
8/15/2009 11:19 AM EDTAccording to MTV News, Lindsey Lohan will be joining the cast of the upcoming Robert Rodriguez film, "Machete".
Last month at Comic-Con, Robert Rodriguez stated "Lindsay's cool. There's actually a cool part in the movie for her - if she takes it." According to her Twitter account last week, she indeed took the part, linking her status saying "Something was made official today!!!!!!!!!" to the "Machete" page on imdb.com.
While Rodriguez only had a couple of people officially cast as of Comic-Con, he stated, "These things come together very quickly. I was thinking it had to live up to the trailer, because the trailer was so well received. But [the script] far surpassed the trailer."
Lohan will appear in the film alongside Danny Trejo, Robert DeNiro, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin and Don Johnson. The story follows a Mexican immigrant who is hired to assassinate a U.S. senator. He winds up being double-crossed and finds his own life in danger. He winds up getting revenge for his betrayal by kidnapping the senator's family and getting rid of anyone in his way.
The film is scheduled for a 2010 release.
