Disney has hired Joe Gazzam whose recent credits include 21 Jump Street, to write a new action adventure movie. Ahmet Zappa's Monsterfoot Productions and Scott Sanders Productions are meant to be developing the movie which will be set against the backdrop of the islands of Hawaii.

It seems the movie will not have a too unfamiliar feel to an Indiana Jones movie, with the story said to be based around a gauntlet that has been dispatched from the gods and draws hugely from the Polynesian mythology with some supernatural components.

At the moment Gazzam is writing It Takes a Thief based on the 1960's ABC TV series while Monsterfoot and Scott Sanders have the upcoming The Odd Life of Timothy Green, whom they produced for Disney.
