Lionsgate Looking to Adapt Films for TV

6/4/2012 9:58 AM EDT
Lionsgate Looking to Adapt Films for TVLionsgate may be giving us a good reason to finish dinner, grab our favorite
beverage, then strap in for some great TV shows... as they are looking at
turning several of its movie franchises into TV series, most notably "The
Expendables". Also, with the acquisition of Summit Entertainment they have
plans to make both big and small screen revenue off the properties they now
own including "RED" and "Step Up", according to CEO Jon Feltheimer.

Previously, Feltheimer had indicated that he was toying with the idea of
turning "Twilight" into a TV series, though no further progress has taken
place on that. Heavy hitters "The Hunger Games" and "The Twilight Saga"
franchises are expected to keep the mini-major's coffers fairly well stocked
for the near future.

Feltheimer is currently President of Columbia TriStar Television Group,
and Executive VP of Sony Pictures Entertainment. He has been executive
producer for movies such as "Rambo", and "The Expendables", as
well as "Brothers". He is also Chief Executive Officer of Lions Gate
Entertainment.
