Your Favorite Dog Goes To Space In Scooby-Doo! Moon Monster Madness

Its Sunday morning and cartoons these days just don't measure up. So you know how to fix that problem right? Grab a copy of Warner Brothers new release of Scooby Doo! Moon Monster Madness! There's something about classic cartoons that just surpasses the current ones. Even if the current ones aren't as good as the originals back in our day, they still have a basis of depth that just doesn't show up in cartoons today. And besides…who passes up an opportunity to sing "Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you? We got some work to do now…."

So its time to sit in front of the TV, Grab a box of Scooby Snacks….and check out Scooby Doo! Moon Monster Madness! So to set things up, Billionaire Sly Baron has created a new spaceship that will take a handful of special selected guests and 5 random lottery winners up to the moon to a new space resort created by the billionaire. The Guests include three astronauts; A alien "Expert" named Ridley (total nod to Alien) a robot, a famous football player and a media reporter, as well as Sly Baron himself!

Of course when it comes to winning the lottery, no one could guess that ALL FIVE of the Scooby gang would win the remaining positions on the ship right? Seriously!! So after being picked and the Scooby gang is outfitted in suits and walk out like that famous scene in Armageddon. Shaggy and Scooby are totally infatuated with the famous football player U-Bolt and I'm sure it had nothing to do with his snack line! Shannon immediately befriends Daphne talking about how her test scores were better than Velma's which totally throws up a red flag! Really? Who's smarter than Velma? Not to mention that this Shannon character has better hair than Daphne! I said it…..better hair than Daphne! And you know something is wrong with that!! Anyway I digress, Fred sets up to annoy Colt and Zip (voiced by non other than Luke Skywalker, Hark Hamill!)  till the end of the cartoon! And Velma is stuck between the Media Reporter, Clark Sparkman and the Alien Specialist, Ridley!

Now of course once in space things start to go wrong! Jeepers! An alien monster starts showing up and wrecking things. Of course it has to show up every time Scooby and Shaggy are off on their own!  Rut row Raggy! Is it a real alien or is it someone in disguise causing trouble. Its up to the Scooby gang to solve this mystery and they better do so fast, I'm running out of Scooby Snacks!

So when it comes to Scooby Doo, can you really go wrong? Every Scooby cartoon is basically the same formula and we all come back for more. Always entertaining and of course who doesn't love Scooby himself? The animation is surprisingly good for a straight to DVD release and the cast of Vocal talent is just as fun. Of course you have Matthew Lillard doing the voice of Shaggy. Mindy Cohn….Yes Natalie from the Facts Of Life, Mindy Cohn doing the voice of Velma and Of course the above mentioned Mark Hamill along with Malcolm McDowell as the Billionaire Sly Baron! My only issue was how Fred Jones seemed to get Blonder than he was back in my day! But then again, that space suite makes Velma quite the looker!

This DVD also has a fun little Bonus feature called "Space Travel Is Groovy" which shows kids all about what kids do at Space Camp! Looks like fun, I want to go!!

Scooby Doo! Moon Monster Madness! Is a ton of fun and will totally keep the kids entertained for 75 minutes and maybe with the right Scooby Snacks, a family movie fun night would be in order!

I give Scooby Doo! Moon Monster Madness 3 Scooby Snacks out of 5

It won't make you shake or shiver, but you'll count on Scooby Doo, you know he'll catch the villain!
