Netflix to Release Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Series
Netflix has ordered a live-action adaptation of "Cowboy Bebop". The popular anime series debuted in 1998 and consisted of only 26 episodes.

The streaming service has ordered 10 episodes for the series, which is set in the future and features a group of bounty hunters trying to escape their pasts. Shinichiro Watanabe, who directed the original series, will be a consultant on the project.

"Cowboy Bebop" will join the Netflix club with another live-action remake - an "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series.

Executive producers include Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio; Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of Sunrise Inc.; and Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, and Matthew Weinberg.
