Universal Orlando Resort Announces Multiple Permanent Ride Closures

Today, Universal Orlando Resort announced that they will be closing some attractions in order to make room for some "new family entertainment".

Fievel's Playland, Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster, Curious George Goes to Town, DreamWorks Destination, and Shrek and Donkey's Meet & Greet will all be permanently closed on January 15, 2023.

There's no word yet on what will be built in place of these attractions, but some say that it could be either a "Pokémon" attraction or something based on "The Secret Life of Pets".

In the announcement, Universal said that they are bringing "exciting new family entertainment that will immerse guests in the adventures of beloved animated characters." They also stated that "the E.T. Adventure, Animal Actors on Location!, SpongeBob StorePants - including meet and greets with SpongeBob SquarePants and friends - and KidZone Pizza Company will remain open."
