Total Recall (1990)

Michael Ironside revealed to FlickDirect that the scream heard during Richter's famous death in Total Recall was real. While filming the scene in which Quaid rips off Richter's arms, Ironside realized too late that he had forgotten his ear protection. With explosive squibs and other practical effects going off around him, he screamed in an attempt to protect his ears, and that take was used in the finished film. Ironside also recalled struggling to climb into the stunt rig because years of roofing and stunt work had damaged his legs. When he told stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong that he was worried he could no longer work as a roofer, Armstrong reminded him that he was starring opposite the biggest box-office star in the world and probably didn't need to worry about roofing anymore. Ironside said that was the moment he finally accepted acting as his career.
