Disney's Pirates Tops DVD Sales Charts

Disney's Pirates Tops DVD Sales ChartsDisney's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End has topped the charts as the biggest selling DVD for any movie that came out this past summer, surpassing the Shrek and Spiderman sequels. Pirates sold more than twice as many copies as its competitors in the same time frame.

Superbad was also a big earner with the Number 1 slot on the Home Media Rental Chart for the week of Dec. 9. The film earned an estimated $14 million. Following were Pirates of the Caribbean at Number 2 with $9.5 million, and Live Free or Die Hard at Number 3 with $8.4 million.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World' End and Superbad took the Number 1 and Number. 2 finish on the Blu-ray Disc chart, while BBC Video's Planet Earth: The Complete Series returned to the top spot on the HD DVD chart.

Disney's Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End can be purchased from local retailers or online at Amazon.com.
