Bourne Series To Continue With Jeremy Renner

7/23/2012 10:53 AM EDT
Bourne Series To Continue With Jeremy RennerWith less than three weeks to go until the theatrical release of the fourth "Bourne" movie, the film's Producer, Frank Marshall, has been discussing what lies ahead for the franchise at a recent press event.

At the end of June, it was widely rumored that a fifth movie was being planned which would see Legacy actor Jeremy Renner's character, Aaron, teaming up with Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) once again.  However, Marshall would neither confirm nor deny.

"We're going to follow Jeremy's character," Marshall said. "Everything else is wide open. That's the great thing about this now. The table is set to go any direction we want to. But we will, I'm sure, follow Jeremy and see what happens."

Renner himself was also giving nothing away.  "As far as the future, I'm excited that the architects and the creators behind this whole thing have cleverly left it wide open for fans like myself to wonder what's going to go on next."

The fourth film in the franchise, The Bourne Legacy, opens in theaters on August 10.
