Warner Bros. has announced that a fifth "Matrix" film is in the works.

Breaking away from tradition, this upcoming film will mark the first time neither Lana nor Lily Wachowski, the original directors, will helm the project. Instead, the reins have been handed over to Drew Goddard, renowned for his work on "The Martian," who will not only direct but also pen the screenplay alongside his partner at Goddard Textiles, Sarah Esberg.
