Lionsgate and Hasbro have announced a collaboration with LuckyChap, the esteemed production company led by Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara, to develop "Monopoly" into a feature film. Hasbro Entertainment will also be involved in the production.

Lionsgate secured the development rights to the cherished multi-generational board game through its acquisition of eOne, finalized in December 2023. With a global presence in over 100 countries and nearly half a billion copies sold since its inception in 1935, Monopoly stands as the world's most recognized board game brand.

LuckyChap, renowned for its recent successes including the Oscar-winning "Barbie" with over $1.4 billion in global box office revenue, as well as "Saltburn" and the upcoming Sundance hit "My Old Ass" starring Aubrey Plaza and Maisy Stella, is set to helm the production.

Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, expressed confidence in LuckyChap as the ideal production team for this iconic brand, citing their exceptional track record and clear vision for the project.

LuckyChap emphasized the global resonance and enduring popularity of Monopoly, expressing enthusiasm for collaborating with Lionsgate and Hasbro to bring the game to life on the big screen.

Zev Foreman, Head of Film for Hasbro Entertainment, highlighted Monopoly's potential as a storytelling platform and expressed excitement about the creative synergy between LuckyChap, Lionsgate, and Hasbro.
